Awards / Pats on The Back

A momentous event occurred in my life in October 2007. My book, 'Fighting for women's rights' - The extraordinary adventures of Anna Leonowens' brought me my share of fame! The Mississauga Arts Council awarded me the Emerging Literary Artist prize in a glittering ceremony at the Stage West Theatre. Being commended by the arts community in my city was like a culmination of all my hard work that went into the researching and writing of the book. I brought home the award to my family who were as proud as I was. Besides the congratulations and good wishes from friends and family, I was interviewed on our local television channel. Sometimes, it's wonderful to just bask!
